Photographer Q&A: Sarah Vitel
Meet lifestyle photographer and videographer Sarah Vitel.
Q: Tell us a little bit about yourself.
A: I’m lifestyle photographer & videographer who creates story-telling content for brands. I’ve spent seven years in the fashion industry working on all sides of the creative spectrum in marketing, social media, event production and photography.
I love working from home and out of my midtown studio. One of the best parts of being self-employed is having a flexible schedule.
Among notable creative work I’ve completed includes projects for brands like Lyft, High Museum of Art, The Ellis Hotel, ATL Girl Gang and for reality TV stars like Lindsie Chrisley (Chrisley Knows Best) and Kail Lowry (Teen Mom).
Q:
Where are you from originally?
I’m from a suburb of Chicago called St.Charles.
Q: What are three fun facts about you?
Animals hold a special place in my heart so I’d love to work with an animal rescue one day.
I’m intuitive which means sometimes I have a natural feeling or just “know” something without otherwise having proof or being told about it.
I’ve traveled internationally for my job (India) and would LOVE to do a lot more of it.
Q:
What are some of your favorite local businesses or creators?
My friend Talia (@takeoffwithtal) is spreading so much positivity with her IG posts and focus on self-love which I think everybody needs a reminder of during quarantine.
@decatur_alpaca_cottage because I love seeing photos and memes of the alpacas!
Q: What have been some of the most fun and inspiring projects/collaborations you have worked on?
A: Shooting local conferences like the Let’s Conference and Your Social Team’s Instagram Conference are some of my favorite projects to date because it’s like getting together with your family! I’ve met a TON of very talented and driven women while shooting these events. Building a community is one of the greatest feelings as an entrepreneur and working with ATL Girl Gang, Your Social Team and countless other vendors to product beautiful learning events always leaves my cup feeling so full.
Q: How can the community support you?
A: I offer monthly brand photography packages which include one hour of shooting and 30 images per month. When a client books my 6-month package, they receive one full month free.
I’ve created stock photography bundles which are available to help brands turnaround content quickly on their blogs, social media pages or websites when they don’t have a creative professional around.
