Creator Q&A: Tristan Watson

Get to know this Atlanta-based social engagement coordinator, influencer, and self-professed stan of Bachelor Nation.

Q: Tell us a little about yourself.

A: I'm 24 years old, born and raised in Montgomery, Alabama and now thriving in Atlanta. I went to college at Auburn University where I fell absolutely in love with the campus, my friends, and all things marketing/events/pop culture.

Q: How did you get started with your career?

A: Growing up, I always knew I loved making people laugh and meeting anyone and everyone that I could by traveling to new cities, going on random road trips, and staying up way too late on Instagram, YouTube, and Twitter. Within the past year, I have become obsessed with all things Bachelor Nation and do weekly recaps on Instagram for anyone who wants to watch (aka me just screaming at my phone about what I'm watching on TV). On the daily, you can find me at my amazing job working as a social engagement coordinator at Dagger in Old Fourth Ward/Inman Park (I'm really bad at knowing the neighborhoods in Atlanta).

What are three fun facts about you?

  1. I've lived in over 10 houses growing up (all in Montgomery, Alabama - lol).

  2. I was a student recruiter in college and gave campus tours to prospective students (including to a member of the Real Housewives).

  3. I once appeared on an episode of the Late Late Show with James Corden.

Q: What are a few of your favorite brands?

A: I'm quarantined in Alabama, so I'm missing my Atlanta favorites bad.

My go-to for Food/Drink: Henri's Bakery, Oku Sushi, Folk Art Restaurant, Barcelona Wine Bar, El Azteca, Jalisco, and Dancing Goats. Oh also MJQ — I miss dancing there on the weekends. Wow, now I'm super hungry.

As for Atlanta creators, I follow so many powerful, amazing, hilarious, creative women. Some of my favorites right now are Heather McMahan and Tracie (GadgetGirl)!

Q: What have been some of the most fun and inspiring projects/collaborations you have worked on?

A: Throughout the years of working in the social media industry, I've had the privilege of connecting with so many incredible influencers, bloggers, and industry professionals along the way.

I think one of my favorite events that I've been able to attend would have to be a Bachelor in Paradise watch party at Park Tavern where I was invited by my friend Emily Foley. Number one, fabulous venue with a great view. Number two, watching the bachelor with the cast. Put those two together and you can count me in.

This event was put on to benefit Helping Mamas, whose mission is “to connect helping mamas to mamas needing help. We are the baby supply bank for Georgia.” Also, there were delicious drinks and appetizers — and a requirement for me showing up literally anywhere is that there are many snacks.

Q: How can the community support you?

A: I'm constantly posting Instagram Stories on my account @tristan_watson where I talk about things like pop-culture, television, my daily life, the food I eat, and the places I go. If you want to also see me make a fool of myself, even more, you can find me on TikTok (@tristtoks) where I am currently trying to master many dance challenges that are made for people much younger than me.

When you come to any of my social media, just take the time to have a laugh and enjoy yourself. I want to remind everyone to chill-out, drink a glass (or four) of wine, and be yourself.
